Technical Information

Based on the current patent pending design, the Bykramp will be made from flame retardant PVC. Colour will be dependent upon the end location requirements but it is suggested that it be an orange as shown in the images here enabling high visibility. It will comprise of 4 components:

1. The track - which is 60mm in diameter and 6mm thick

2. The bracket - 50mm x 65 mm soft PVC enabling compression when fixed

3. On/off ramp (header) - PVC - 138mm diameter, with fixed location pins

4. Off/on ramp (footer) - PVC - 138mm diameter, with fixed location pins

5. Anti slip logo - soft sticky back PVC

Track length will be to order and will be available up to 5000mm in length. Pin holes exist in the ramp design allowing standard 6mm splinned pins to be used along with a generic bonding agent should extended lengths be required.

Fitting - The track is simply fixed by self tapping screws into the stair tread. Each tread will have a bracket positioned near the nosing of the stair (See photo). The bracket profile slots under the track profile. The installer will drill through the track and bracket, countersinking the screws. In addition each header and footer will require two countersunk screws into the riser of the stairs on each ramp. In addition they will slot into the ramp with their inbuilt pins. It is anticipated that there will be 15 screws needed for each typical 3,200mm run of track - the average stair length before a landing at most railway stations in the country.
